I've been reluctant to post many updates on here lately because I have almost no news. By almost no news, I mean essentially nothing has changed this week. As I previously posted, I had my appointment with Dr. P, the neurologist who seems to be a very nice, competent doctor. She ordered an MRI, EEG, and Autonomic Nervous System testing. This is really encouraging because unlike the other two neurologists I have seen, she actually ordered testing that will hopefully help figure out what's going on with my body. So far, I've had the EEG and the Autonomic testing. My MRI is scheduled on Friday. That will conclude the tests ordered by the neurologist. However, she also wanted me to see a urologist considering I've had some pretty intense bladder spasms for the past year and no one can really figure out why. Dr. Lee is very nice and I'm glad he's another doctor on my care team, but he ordered more tests. He ordered a CT scan of my kidneys, which was performed this past Friday. Not the most pleasant of procedures, as they decided I needed to drink two very large cups of water in a short amount of time (I would say about 800 cc's in 30 minutes..give or take). But, I will go through these tests so they can figure out what's going on. The other test Dr. Lee ordered is a cystoscopy, which is basically a scope of my bladder. This will be done by a catheter, and they did not want me sedated for this procedure, but I will ask for sedation because I really don't want to be in too much pain during the procedure. I don't want to be completely knocked out, but I do want pain control.
As for everything else, my energy levels have been about the same, low as a rule. It's been a little bit on the warmer side, which makes me feel more uncomfortable than usual. I've also been running low grade fevers for unknown reasons. They found that out the other day when they took my temperature at the urology appointment. I've been going back and forth to the clinic three times in the past week, so I will be glad to be close to being done with all of this running around and waiting. It's an hour drive one way to that clinic, but it's definitely worth the trip. So far I've been pretty impressed with the advanced and specialized care I have received and am willing to travel a ways to get it. With that being said, I need to have an appointment with Dr. P, my PCP to go over the results I hear from both Dr. P and Dr. Lee. My follow-up appointment with Dr. P the neurologist is on the 21st. I'm sincerely hoping and praying that she will allow me to return to work after this appointment, and that the appointment itself with provide answers as to what is going on with my very tired body.
I've been steadily plugging away at homework. Thankfully I'm somewhat ahead in my online class, and I'm hoping to get more ahead in my other subjects. On a positive note, my weight is up a little since moving back in with my grandparents.
I continue to pray that I am getting closer to having answers. I need them desperately. Any prayers said for me are greatly appreciated.
