Trapped....

I am officially trapped in my own house. I can't work, my birthday plans are down the tubes, and I have absolutely no energy. No, it's not a general energy crash. I thought at first that it was just a sinus infection coupled with an upper respiratory infection. Nothing could have prepared me for the truth.

I have Influenza B. This was confirmed yesterday via a test they do by putting a cotton swab (similar to that which they use for a throat culture for strep) in your nasal cavity. And I mean, WAY in there. Not just a little bit. Oh yeah, and it burns! A lot. So anyway, that's how they test for Influenza in case anyone was wondering.

But of course, since I work in Long Term Care, I have been forced to take the week off from work. Normally that wouldn't bother me much, but that's a whole week's worth of pay that I will be missing out on. My hope is that there will be a way my workplace can get it figured out so I don't have to miss out completely on that pay. It is important that I am able to pay my bills on time.

I need to go downstairs to take my shower. I am very tired but I feel like bathing and getting cleaned up will help a little. Not sure though. I really don't want to go all the way downstairs (both flights) to shower so maybe I will wait until tomorrow. I have already taken medications for the night and I am getting more and more groggy as time goes by. At this point, I will be able to return to work on Tuesday. I ache all over still and my lungs are still suffering a bit. It's a slight setback so it will be at least a few more days before I start to get back to my baseline.
